I’ve spent a large portion of this month reading and studying about the Lord as our Shepherd. How He takes care of us, provides for us, guides us, disciplines us, and leads us. However, with Easter occurring this month too, I couldn’t help but think about how Jesus came to earth to be our Lamb. If it were not for His sacrifice as the final Passover Lamb, we would not be able to call Him Shepherd. In my own words, here is Psalm 23 if it were titled, “The Lord is my Lamb”
The Lord is My Lamb
The Lord is my Lamb, I lack nothing.
He laid down His life for me, to pay a debt I could never pay.
He leads me beside the waters of redemption, my soul is redeemed.
My righteousness is as filthy rags, but through the blood of the Son, they are as white as snow.
Even though He walked through the valley of the shadow of death,
He did not remain there.
The empty tomb proves that He is risen.
He has prepared a mansion for me in the presence of His glory.
He anoints my head with His blood and calls me His beloved.
Surely His goodness, mercy and love will follow me all the days of my life. And I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever.
To start this page, I pulled out some Hand Made Modern paints from Target in Cherry Blossom, Heather and Goldenrod. Using a baby wipe, I wiped the Cherry Blossom on the page. Then, I coated the handle of a paintbrush in Heather and pressed it onto the page to make the straight lines. I made a few highlights in Goldenrod with another wipe. The small triangles from the Creative Retreat Christ Lord stamp set were stamped with Bundled Sage distress oxide and the flowers from the My Shepherd set with Dusty Concord. I finished with some Moss Green Neocolor ii splatters and the words “Shepherd + Lamb” with the alphabet stickers.
In the bottom right corner of my page, I created a layered collage using the washi from the kit, a scrap piece of burlap and the sheep from the My Shepherd Faithfilled Digitals set. I printed “The Lord is my Lamb” on vellum and added it to the top.
You can still grab both the kit and the digitals over in the Creative Retreat shop! I pray that this kit will be as much a blessing to you as it has been to me 🙂
